Meet our Pastor and Staff

Alex Creager, BAPC Pastor

Since August 2015, Rev. Alex Creager has been a Presbyterian pastor in the mid-Atlantic area serving a young, emerging church. Born and raised in Springfield, Ohio, Alex is a graduate of Kent State University and Princeton Theological Seminary. He served as a Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) in Belfast, Northern Ireland from 2008-2009. There, he met his wife, Hannah, who is also an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA). In February 2019, Alex and Hannah welcomed their daughter Alanna Claire into the world. She is a source of great joy, love, and exhaustion for Alex.

Connor Ferreri, Director of Children and Youth Ministries

Connor Ferreri has served with Bon Air Presbyterian Church since June of 2020 as Director of Children and Youth Ministry. Connor earned their Bachelors Degree in Religious Studies from The College of Wooster in 2019 and is currently working on two Masters Degrees at Union Presbyterian Seminary. Connor will graduate in May of 2023 with a Master of Arts in Christian Education (MACE) and a Master of Divinity (M.Div). 

Connor’s teaching and educational models focus largely on the Multiple Intelligences and their benefits for both educators and students. Movement, play, music, and reflection are often components seen in Connor’s inclusive and accepting classrooms.

Beverley Edwards, Director of Music

We are excited to welcome our new Music Director, Mrs. Beverley Edwards, who begins her service with BAPC on July 5, 2022. Her first Sunday leading us in worship will be Sunday, July 10th.

Meredith Himmelman, Section Leader/Soloist

Meredith Himmelman has been a section leader/soloist at BAPC since 2016 after she graduated from VCU with her Bachelor’s in Music Education with a concentration in Vocal/Choral Music. In addition to serving at BAPC, she is the music teacher to over 600 children at Swift Creek Elementary in Chesterfield, and teaches private lessons from her home studio. Meredith believes that anyone has the ability to sing, and that music can truly heal.

Brenda Norton, Office Manager

Brenda has been married to John since 1989 and has two adult sons, Ryan, and Jake.  She also has two fur babies, Daniel, and Rags.  Her mother, Wanda Markle, lives with her full time.

Brenda has been on staff at Bon Air Presbyterian since April 2008.  She is a member of Good Shepherd UMC in Henrico but considers Bon Air her second church home.  Before starting at Bon Air, she worked at Bethany UMC in Weyers Cave, VA  for 15 years. Brenda loves to spend time with her family, read and spend time outdoors, preferably in the mountains.
