Peace and Global Witness Offering collected Oct. 3rd
The Peace and Global Witness Offering will be collected on October 3rd. The Peace Offering is one of the PCUSA’s Denominational Offerings, and it is used to promote the peace of Christ by addressing systems of injustice across the world.
Individual congregations are encouraged to utilize 25% of this Offering to benefit local/community peace efforts; local Presbyteries will utilize 25% for local ministries of peace and reconciliation; and the remaining 50% is used by the Presbyterian Mission Agency to advocate for peace and justice around the world.
BAPC’s Church and Society ministry team has selected the Richmond Peace Education Center (RPEC) as the 2021 recipient of BAPC’s 25% portion of the Peace and Global Witness Offering to be collected on October 3rd. Established in 1980, RPEC promotes peaceful conflict resolution, social justice, and nonviolent social change in the Richmond region through workshops, public events, youth programs, and training sessions (www.rpec.org).
Please consider your own generous support for this PCUSA Denominational Offering to promote peace and reconciliation in our community and around the world. If you would like to contribute with a check, please make it payable to Bon Air Presbyterian and include “Peacemaking offering” in the memo line.
