Get Ready for Advent!
Starting December 3rd, Pastor Alex Creager will be leading our Adult Christian Education Class on The Heart that Grew Three Sizes. This book by Methodist pastor Matt Rawle, looks at the story of Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas and how it connects with our Christian faith and calling to follow Jesus. We will meet for three Sunday mornings at 9:35am (December 3rd, 10th, and 17th) in the Beck Room and on Zoom.
You can order Rawle’s book here:

And, if you haven’t read it in awhile, Pastor Creager recommends you also re-read the original Dr. Seuss book How the Grinch Stole Christmas before our first class.

Christian Reflections on Muslim Faith and Practice
Led by Peter Ford, October 22 – November 26, 2023
Muslims are our neighbors—and Jesus calls us to “love your neighbor as yourself.” How can we do that? It begins by gaining a better understanding of what Muslims believe and how they live out their faith in diverse ways; and by looking for bridges that will connect us with the Muslim community. In this class we are exploring Muslim—and Christian—perspectives on God, Muhammad, the Qurʾān, Jesus, the “pillars” of Islam, and Christian-Muslim relations today. Led by Peter Ford, retired missionary professor of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations. The class meets at 9:35 AM in the Beck Room. Use the Class Documents button below to find more details (on the document “about the class”) along with optional pre-class readings and class handouts.
When Creation Groans, What Do We Do?
Led by Patty Ford and Harold Houghton, September 17 - October 15, 2023
When Creation Groans, What Do We Do? Soaring, record-breaking temperatures, wildfires, massive flooding, melting glaciers…the world around us is groaning and crying out for relief. God calls us to be good stewards of the earth – but what does that mean and how do we do it? We at BAPC are an Earth Care congregation; come explore with us what this all means and what is God’s call upon us individually and communally – not just in theory but in practical everyday terms. Handouts with links to videos and other resources are found to the right.
